Degrees do not make a sheriff

Trudy RobinsonSilverthorne

Diplomas and degrees in higher education do not necessarily form the character and abilities of any man – let alone, our sheriff. My sheriff is a man who commands the respect of his peers, his employees and most importantly, the three county commissioners who meticulously selected him as interim sheriff. My sheriff has earned the respect and affection of children and adults alike through his work in our community with schools and parents. But I think the most important aspect of my sheriff is the respect he has for himself, a confidence that will see him through the toughest of times, experienced by all law enforcement officers. My sheriff is John Minor.

Summit Daily is embarking on a multiyear project to digitize its archives going back to 1989 and make them available to the public in partnership with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
