Dems picnic in the park today

SUMMIT COUNTY – The Summit County Democrats will be having its annual picnic today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to mark a noteworthy social and political milestone.The democrats will celebrate a heightened sense of community and resolve in the pastoral setting of Walter Byron Park in Frisco.Congressman Mark Udall, State Senator Joan Fitz-Gerald, Democratic National Committee member and Eagle County Democrat’s co-chair Debbie Marquez, State Representative Gary Lindstrom, University of Colorado regent Cindy Carlisle, CU regent candidate Jennifer Mello, district attorney candidate Bruce Brown and Summit County commissioners Bob French and Bill Wallace will attend.As this gathering makes a significant contribution in support of the democrat’s 2004 campaign activities, including their newly-opened headquarters at 619 Main St. in Frisco.Democrats are asking for a minimum donation of $10 per person from those 18 and older. Checks are preferred. To complement the traditional fare of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, coleslaw and potato salad, guests are encourage to bring a dish to share.
