Denver approves 3-day music festival that will start in 2018
DENVER — A New York-based marketing and event company has selected a Denver golf course as the site for its next music festival.
Superfly Productions received approval Monday to launch its latest music festival at the Overland Park Golf Course.
The festival faced several concerns from neighbors for months, but the City Council voted to approve the five-year agreement.
The Denver contract allows for a three-day weekend festival each September at the golf course beginning in 2018.
Superfly Productions promises an expansive slate of performers, from big names to local bands. Promoters say the event is expected to draw 30,000 to 40,000 people a day to the site in the first year.
Superfly Productions is the same promoter behind San Francisco’s Outside Lands and rural Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.
