Denver area home sales fall 17 percent

DENVER ” Home sales in the Denver metro area in January dropped 17.3 percent compared with the same month last year despite plunging home prices.

The Denver Post reported sales were 2,469, compared with 2,987 sales in January 2008. The median price for a single-family home dropped 16.3 percent to $181,500 from $216,950, while condos fell 15.7 percent to $113,000, compared with $134,000 when compared with last January.
