Denver Zoo adopts orphan mountain lions from S.D., Washington
DENVER ” Two orphaned mountain lion cubs from Washington state and South Dakota have found a new home at the Denver Zoo.
Three-month-old Cassy was found wandering along a Washington highway when she was six weeks old. Four-month-old Dakota was two months old when he was found in South Dakota.
Zoo officials say it would be better for them to grow up in the wild but they probably wouldn’t survive without their mothers.
The cubs arrived at the zoo in December. Both are doing well, and zoo visitors can see them playing in an outdoor yard.
