Dessert Theatre spotlights high school arts talent

Amanda Roberson

DILLON – If you’d like to see what some of the county’s youngest singers, dancers, and actors are up to while indulging your sweet tooth, come to the Tout Dessert Theatre at the Lake Dillon Theatre Co.

The evening features singing, dancing, and theater performances by students in Summit High School’s performing arts program.

Cathie Hill, Summit High’s director of vocal music and drama, has designed a program with samplings from talented performers. Highlights include David Teot’s rendition of columnist Dave Barry material, Leslie Hebron dancing to Linkin Park, and the Summit Singers performing some old-fashioned doo wop with “Kiss Him Goodbye.”

The Peak Performers, a select group of young women, will perform at the second show at 8:30 p.m..

Desserts from some of the leading restaurants including Hearthstone Catering, Ti Amo Ristorante, The Keystone Resort Pastry Shop, the Uptown Bistro, and Starbucks Coffee will be served.

The Tout Dessert Theatre has two shows this evening at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Reservations can be made in advance by calling Mary Elaine Moore at (970) 468-5560. Tickets are $13; proceeds benefit the Organization for the Creative Arts and the performing arts department of Summit High School.
