The Dillon Town Council voted Tuesday, Feb. 6, to cancel the election scheduled for this spring after the town only received as many candidate nominations as there were open positions in the election.
With April 2 election canceled, the two incumbent candidates and one newcomer, Rachel Tuyn, will commence 4-year terms as council members later this year, according to a staff memo to the Town Council.
Tuyn and incumbent candidates Kyle Hendricks and John Woods will be sworn in at the April 9 Town Council meeting. Finalized candidate nomination petitions were due by Jan. 26, and one candidate withdrew their nomination on Jan. 29, the memo states.
