The Summit County Government Facebook page posted May 1 that the Dillon dump loop mountain biking trails have opened for the season. The trails are near the Summit County Resource Allocation Park — the Dillon dump — across U.S. Highway 6 from Lakeside Drive.

The Facebook post warned that snow patches remain on Buzztail Trail, and bikers should walk or ride through snow and mud to avoid trail widening. It added that snow dustings and rain in May can make trails muddy, and if riders are leaving tracks, it is time to turn back.

Recreators can access the trails by parking at the Dillon Cemetery lot on Cemetery Road and riding the Sage Trail to access the other routes.

Frisco Adventure Park shared a Facebook update about its Peninsula Recreation Area biking trails April 28, writing that although they seem dry when driving by on Colorado Highway 9, the trails are not yet open.

The post stated that the bike park remains closed as well as the adventure park prepares for spring maintenance. Frisco Adventure Park will share updates when those attractions open for the season.
