Dillon parade winners announced

Dillon’s Fourth of July featured the state’s only boat parade, organized by the Dillon Yacht Club, followed by a traditional parade in town.The boat parade winners were:- First Place tie – The Darling Family (Bill, Dawn and George) on a J-22 and the Richardson Family on a Pontoon titled Miss Liberty; third place – Chris Williams on an ensign.The day continued with a street parade, that is believed to be one of the biggest Dillon has ever hosted, said Sally Croker, Dillon’s marketing and events manager. The parade staged on Lodgepole Street and extended almost beyond the capacity of the road. The winners of the street parade were:- Most patriotic – Agape Outpost with Shane Holmberg who just recently returned from active duty in Iraq.- Best business award – Best Western Ptarmigan.- Best vehicle entry – Ken Broden driving his 1926 Model T.- Best animal entry – High Country Horsemanship.- Best nonprofit entry – Mountain Community Fair.
