General information about the Dillon Ranger District includes their location as well as general information about all the activities you could do within the wilderness.
If you want to go camping but don’t know where the best place to be is, the Dillon Ranger District can help you. They have information on prices, maps and even information on which campgrounds were affected by the Mountain Pine Beetle that have infested the area as well as the removal of infested timber. Most people who camp have a bonfire and a bonfire is made up of one very important element: fire. Know what the conditions are and whether or not we’re at low fire danger any time.
Want to be outdoors but not stay overnight? Check out the trail information which includes a spring snowmelt schedule, mountain biking trails and hunting season information. There is even information about summer recreation opportunities and winter ones as well. There’s also information about the general wilderness of the Ranger District and what is allowed and what’s not.
If you’re looking for a permit, look no further. The Ranger District has several permit opportunities such as firewood cutting permit and still photography. All permit requests can be mailed to the Ranger District and soon you’ll be able to cut firewood just like everyone else.
Of course there is a touch of beauty when it comes to the Ranger District. It’s not all about permits and sleeping in the dirt. Weddings are a big hit with the Ranger District and there is available pricing, rules, maps and reservations.
Perhaps you’re not in the wedding, but you really love them and want to be around them. Why not try volunteering? You still may not be a part of the wedding but perhaps your volunteer schedule with coincide with a wedding. Either way, volunteering is a great way to help out the Dillon Ranger District and the community.
