Dillon Snow Golf Tournament returns

Dillon is reinstating its Snow Golf Tournament this year Feb. 14 in the Dillon Town Park off of Buffalo Street.

The tournament is open to the public. Tee times begin at 12:30 p.m.

The course will be set up at the park with six holes. The competition is a short-iron competition, so bring a 7-iron through wedge.

For anyone who is curious about how snow golfers find small, white golf balls beneath all the snow – the town provides tennis balls instead.

Years ago, the town hosted snow golf tournaments during the winter. The town council last year was reminiscing about the tourney, and decided to reinstate the community event.

The Arapahoe Cafe and other town center businesses will serve warm beverages and hot food throughout the event.

The top three finishers in the men’s, women’s and children’s divisions will receive gold, silver and bronze medals. After the competition, the event will continue at the Pub Down Under.

To participate, snow golfers must buy two Rotary Ice Melt tickets at a cost of $4 each.

For information, or to sign up, call the Dillon Town Hall at (970) 468-2403.
