Dillon store owner passes away

Mike Whittington, owner of the MountainView Building Specialties store in Dillon, died Nov. 14 at the age of 43.

The Glenwood Springs resident was born Oct. 7, 1960, in Billings, Mont.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Whittington; his dog Montana; parents Bob and Helen Whittington of Grants Pass, Ore.; brothers Jim Whittington of Mill Valley, Calif., and Mike Whittington of Florif, Iowa; sisters Donna Barone of Billings, Mont., and Diane Balding of Kalispell, Mont.; niece Michelle Balding of Colorado Springs and nephew Kris Balding of Kalispell, Mont.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 6 at Mountain View Church in Glenwood Springs. A catered reception will follow.
