The town of Dillon will roll out a parking program this summer that will charge hourly fees for parking at the Dillon Marina Lot, Dillon Amphitheater Lot and along Lodgepole Street, among other adjustments.
The changes to the parking program were published on ParkDillon.com and also include a season pass option for parking at the marina as well as a paid reservation system for parking during concerts.
Previous to this year, Dillon had only charged for overnight parking in town. The changes come after Dillon Town Council discussed potential changes to the parking program during a work session in December.
Dillon Town Manager Nathan Johnson was not available for an interview Monday. But Johnson said in a text message that the changes made to the parking program this year did not require a vote by the council because the council approved an agreement with Interstate Parking in 2022 that allows for “flexibility in what the Town wanted to do.”
Johnson added that the fees listed online are “proposed fees” and potential changes will be made at the next Dillon Town Council meeting.
The summer parking program will run from May 24 through Sept. 30, according to ParkDillon.com.
Between those dates there will be hourly paid parking available at the Dillon Marina Lot, Dillon Amphitheater Lot and along Lodgepole Street. The first 30 minutes are free to park, and then it would cost $1.25 per half hour with a $12 daily maximum, the website states.
On concert dates, the Dillon Amphitheater Lot and parking along Lodgepole Street will have a $50 flat rate, and these spots can be reserved ahead of time online, according to the parking website.
A season pass to park at the marina costs $99. Passholders may park on a first-come, first-serve basis in the Marina Lot only, the website states. The marina season parking passes will be on sale from April 29 to June 30.
Free parking with a three-hour maximum will be available in the town core on a daily basis from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., the website states. Dillon town residents and employees can register for a free Summer 2024 Parking Permit so that they can park for free in the town core without the three-hour time limit. The residential permits are only available to residents that live in Dillon town limits and does not include Summit Cove or the Keystone area.
The Summer 2024 Parking Permits are digital and based on license plate numbers, the website states. The permits reportedly will not be accepted if the vehicle has outstanding parking violations in town.
The Summer 2024 Residential and Employee permits do not include overnight parking or any parking in the Dillon Marina Lot, Amphitheater Lot or along Lodgepole Street. The town is now accepting applications for the Summer 2024 Residential Permits. Employees should contact their employer about getting a parking permit.
The current fee for a parking violation in Dillon is $75, which doubles to $150 if it is not paid within 10 days, according to ParkDillon.com.
