The Dillon Town Council has approved about $800,000 to build a new boat ramp at the town’s marina.

The council voted unanimously at its meeting Tuesday, Feb. 11, to approve the funds for Columbine Hills Construction to replace the existing failed boat ramp at the marina.

The new boat ramp will include a 10-foot-wide kayak and paddleboard ramp on the outside of the main boat ramp, according to a memo written by Dillon town staff.

The project will use about $500,000 from the town’s capital fund and $300,000 from the Dillon Urban Renewal Authority fund, the memo states.

“This is long overdue,” Mayor Carolyn Skowyra said. “I think it’s going to look really nice down there.”
