Dillon Valley man arrested for assault

DILLON – A Dillon Valley man was arrested on second- and third-degree assault charges early this week after he allegedly knocked on his neighbor’s door and punched the man in the face.

According to Sheriff’s Office reports, Jason Hand and his wife were in their condominium in Dillon Valley East when their neighbor, Alfred Stachurski, knocked on the door.

Hand opened the door, at which point Stachurski said something to him and lunged at Hand, striking him on the left side of the face.

Hand said he purchased the condo last weekend and has never met Stachurski.

When deputies tried to contact Stachurski, the man allegedly slammed the door on them. He then kicked a deputy in the shin and groin area, and resisted officer’s efforts to arrest him as they placed him in the patrol car.
