Dillon’s Margie Prim wins ice melt contest

DILLON RESERVOIR ” It’s official: It pays to be a local.

With contestents from all over the world competing in this year’s 22nd annual Summit County Rotary Club Ice Melt Contest, only locals reached the podium.

Dillon’s Margie Prim guessed it right this year, winning the $2,000 grand prize. Her guess was just 46 seconds off the official time the clock fell in ” 8:00:14 on May 3.



Breckenridge’s Kate Hudnut won the $750 second prize. Her guess was 9 minutes, 52 seconds off. Third place and $500 went to Breckenridge’s Michael Miscisin, who was 20 minutes and 14 seconds off.

Rotary Club reported they had entries from as far away as Barnstable, Devon United Kingdom.
