Disturbance at library in Frisco leads to arrest on firearm charges, according to Summit County Sheriff’s Office

Update 2:45 p.m.: The Summit County Sheriff’s Office says it arrested the 50-year-old Summit County man on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstruction and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon, all misdemeanors, as well as a count of felony menacing.
Original story: The Summit County Sheriff’s Office says it arrested a man on firearm charges Monday, Oct. 14, after a confrontation at a library in Frisco.
Around 11 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a disturbance between two men at the Summit County Main Library at the County Commons in Frisco, public affairs sergeant Mike Schilling said in a video posted to Facebook on Monday.
One of the men was reported to have “chambered a round in a handgun,” Schilling said. The library was evacuated and deputies arrested the man without incident on multiple charges involving firearms, he said.
There is no ongoing risk to public safety, and an investigation is ongoing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Main Library in Frisco will be closed for the remainder of the day Monday.
