On behalf of the Donahue family we thank Summit County for all the support, outpouring of compassion and prayers during our time of loss.We extend our heartfelt thanks to the town of Dillon and its staff, Dillon Community Church and the Summit County Emergency Services chaplains for allowing us to share in remembering Silverthorne Police Chief Kent Donahue at the Lake Dillon Amphitheatre. The memorial service was extraordinary. Thank you to the entire emergency services personnel who participated in the motorcade. The show of support was incredible and made the service memorable.Additionally, we extend our appreciation to the community for its patience as the motorcade may have disrupted daily travels. Silverthorne town manager Kevin Batchelder and the town of Silverthorne staff deserve our gratitude for providing a very comfortable and spacious venue for the reception following the memorial service. We would personally like to thank Maggie Butler, Tammy Jamieson, and the Silverthorne Pavilion staff for providing an unforgettable reception. Your efforts were not unnoticed and were greatly appreciated. We acknowledge Murphy’s Irish Pub for preparing a wonderful Irish meal for all who attended the reception. The food was excellent and it was clear that much effort went into its preparation.Ti Amo provided an exceptional assortment of appetizers to guests as they entered the pavilion reception hall. We truly appreciate the generous gesture made to our family by extending your resources as a show of support for us during this difficult time. Thanks also go to the Days Inn. Our genuine thanks go out to Sgt. Mark Hanschmidt of the Silverthorne Police Department who through great personal sacrifice organized and assisted in the planning of the memorial and reception. The Silverthorne Police Department is fortunate to have a mentor such as Sgt. Hanschmidt who provides continuous leadership. We would like to thank all of the police officers of the Silverthorne Police Department, the Dillon Police Department, the Frisco Police Department, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, the Breckenridge Police Department, the Colorado State Patrol and the Kremmling Police Department for all of their support, cards, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.It is very apparent that there is a family of police officials in this community who truly care about each other and the community. We as a family feel very fortunate to be a part of this community and the police family. We recognize and thank RSN for creating a very exceptional video of the service. Our family will cherish this remembrance throughout our lives. We appreciate the Summit Daily News for the heartfelt editorials and tributes printed in your paper.
