Don’t just tell ghost stories – be in one

Kimberly Nicoletti

BRECKENRIDGE – Someone discovers a young woman on an iceberg, and she wears Victorian clothing and mutters only one word: “Titanic.”

That’s the story the Backstage Theatre’s “Scotland Road” centers around. The theater will hold auditions for the mystery from 6-10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at its office at 110 Ski Hill Road in Breckenridge.

The cast will perform the eerie ghost story Thursdays through Saturdays Oct. 23 to Nov. 29 at the Breckenridge Theatre. The library in Breckenridge has a script.

Backstage Theatre artistic director Jeremy Cole will direct Scotland Road.  Those auditioning should come prepared with one memorized monologue, or be prepared to perform cold readings from the script.

The theater also is looking for people to volunteer offstage throughout the season. Volunteers receive numerous benefits, including complimentary tickets. For more information, call (970) 453-0199.
