Donze: Hero or ecoterrorist?

Terry W. Donze, Wildernest

Re: “Here’s to a new environmental hero,” guest column, Aug. 4

Stephanie Ogburn calls Tim DeChristopher a hero? I call him just another eco-terrorist, as much as were those that torched the Vail buildings, and should be in jail as long as they are. Ms. Ogburn should remember that we are a nation of laws, regardless of what she thinks. The answer to Thoreau’s question is his second scenario: we should obey them and attempt to amend them through the legal process.

Would Ms. Ogburn have the “rich,” the 10 percent of the population that pays 70 percent of the taxes, foment civil disobedience by not paying their “fair share”, or should the Tea-Partiers foment civil disobedience by refusing to abide by the mandates of ObamaCare? I think not. How about those SUV drivers on I-70 that don’t care to go slow? Should they foment civil disobedience by disregarding the speed limits?

Ms. Ogburn is just another leftist hypocrite by living here and burning fossil fuels to heat her house and provide her transportation, enjoying the luxuries that oil and gas provide. And so is Tim DeChristopher.
