Doug Trieste: Thanks for toning down clock tower lights

Doug Trieste
Breckenridge

Now that the election hype, ads, letters to the editor, etc., are over, it is time to bring back one of the real issues: The Clock.

There have been numerous letters to the editor regarding people’s dissatisfaction with the bright, white lights on The Clock at The Village at Breckenridge – including one I wrote Sept. 5. That letter suggested that the lights at least be toned down to the level of the “gas lights” in Breckenridge. I recently noticed that the lights on the clock are now just that – they have the brightness and tone of the gas lights.

I would like to thank the Village at Breckenridge, Town of Breckenridge, and all involved in listening to citizens concerns and making this change to the clock. It is a great improvement and fits in much better with the ambiance of the town.
