Douglas school locked down after apparent student suicide

CASTLE ROCK – The Douglas County High School was locked down for about an hour Tuesday after the body of a 17-year-old student was found in the parking lot. Authorities said foul play was not suspected.School district spokesman Bruce Caughey said the male student apparently died before school began. He said an autopsy was planned and declined to release other details.Grief counselors and members of the district’s crisis team were at the school. Caughey said students were told a schoolmate had died but were not given his name.School officials were drafting a letter about the incident for students to take to their parents.
