Dwight Smith: Edna, the matchmaker

Dwight Smith
Phoenix, Ariz.

I just received news of Edna Dercum’s passing from my sister, who in 1951 left college to wait tables at Ski TIp. Edna had welcomed her with open arms and semi-adopted her into her family. The Dercum matrimonial service proved to be in full working order, and my sister met her husband at Ski Tip, with, of course, the help of Edna. So please include “matchmaker” in the list of titles for this grand lady who meant so much to everyone that knew her during those early years!
