Dziedzic: The BMF thanks you

Laura Dziedzic,
president, BMF board

The Breckenridge Music Festival thanks its supporters for a wonderful season. From Beatles to Beethoven, Chopin to Los Lonely Boys lots of energy filled the Riverwalk Center. We are fortunate to have world-class musicians come here to play under Maestro Zimmermann. And we enjoy presenting fun Blue River Series performers. Orchestra attendance rose 20 percent and Blue River Series’ rose 46 percent. Nearly 10,000 people attended BMF summer concerts at the Riverwalk Center.

We believe music is a gift that lasts an entire lifetime. And we believe we should give back to the community that has supported us for 30 years. Each school year, the BMF brings music and arts enrichment programs to over 4,000 schoolchildren. This summer, orchestra musicians spent a week with children at the Breckenridge Recreation Center day camp. This August, we presented a free family concert. We saw youngsters fascinated by the orchestra, dance ballet in the aisles and conduct from their seats. These experiences bring the benefits of music to the development of youth (and the joy of parents).

The BMF orchestra musicians come back each year to make Breckenridge their summer home. They return to play in perfect unison with respected colleagues for a community they love.

Thanks to our social fundraising committee, Applause! whose volunteers work tirelessly. Membership is open to all, whether to help with events or just enjoy them. Check out Applause! on the BMF website. And thanks to our sponsors, advertisers, donors, volunteer ushers, staff, interns and our loyal audience.

Watch for our Winter Series and our winter partnership with Summit Music and Arts in Dillon. The BMF is here year round to provide great music and work in the community. We are proud to be part of the Summit County experience.
