Education board holds meeting on school calendar

The Summit School District Board of Education will host a work session from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the School District Board room at the central administration office in Frisco to explore research about student learning as it relates to the school calendar. A retired administrator from Cherry Creek school district and a principal of a Douglas County elementary school will be present to discuss their experiences working with a year-round calendar. Board members invite the public to come learn and ask questions. Public input will be limited Wednesday, but ample opportunity for comment will be provided before the board makes changes to the calendar, according to the school district.
