‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ earning applause

Mary Snook

Count me among the legions of Americans who are standing up to applaud Michael Moore’s courageous, chilling and eye-opening film, “Fahrenheit 9/11,” an astute and penetrating look at the Bush administration’s “war on terror.” At the screening I attended, the audience broke into applause at the film’s conclusion and, as the lights came up, more than a few stricken, tear-streaked faces were in evidence. This spontaneous, collective response speaks volumes about how “Fahrenheit 9/11” resonates with viewers, who are turning out in record numbers to see for themselves what some critics and would-be censors, would rather they didn’t.
