Family seeks help finding Texas doctor, son

SALIDA ” Relatives of a doctor from Austin, Texas, are asking for help finding him and his 13-year-old son, who they believe are somewhere in the southern Colorado high country.

Family member Bill Neuhaus of Houston says relatives haven’t heard from 50-year-old Robert Spitz and 13-year-old Caleb Spitz for a week.

Chaffee County authorities say the father and son were last seen in Salida on July 22 getting fishing licenses at the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation District offices.

They told park officals they were going fishing and camping for three to four days.

Neuhaus says the two were also in Alamosa a week ago.

They are traveling in a white 2000 Chevy Coachman RV with Texas license plate 872-TBW.
