Family thanks all who helped in mountain rescue

Peggy King and Jordan King, Lincoln, Neb., Jeff Weeks and Christy Weeks, Greeley

On July 26, my son, Jordan King, and brother-in-law, Jeff Weeks, were hiking up Buffalo Mountain. Their hike to the top was successful, and after enjoying the beautiful view, they began their hike downward.

At about 2 p.m., my son fell about 50 feet and injured his right leg and the left side of his head. After this accident, he was no longer able to walk. Fortunately, my brother-in-law had a cellular phone and called the Summit County Rescue Group.

My family would like to express our gratitude to this amazing team of people who help during rescues in the Summit County area.

They all went above and beyond keeping Jordan safe and comfortable on he way down to safety.

I would also like to express our thanks to the team of people at the command post.

They all did an excellent job of helping my sister and me feel at ease and informed on how the rescue was progressing.

One more thanks to the Big Red bus owned and operated by Scott Wilson. Scott’s family, along with Lisa Cloud, provide food and drink for the rescue team when the rescue is completed.

Many thanks to the following: Summit County Ambulance Service, Summit County Rescue Group, Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Scott Wilson and the Agape Outpost’s Big Red bus, Lisa Cloud of the American Red Cross’s Mile High Chapter – Mountain Branch.

The Summit County community can be very proud of this group.
