FDRD thanks community for BeetleFest support
September 21, 2010
Friends of the Dillon Ranger District (FDRD) would like to give a big thanks to all who came out and supported us at BeetleFest on Sept. 11! Beautiful weather, lively events, and great public participants made for a memorable day. Thank you to the following major sponsors who made the day possible: STIHL Chainsaws, TV 8, The Backcountry Brewery, Sanders True Value, the Summit Daily News, K-CMV Radio, and the Town of Frisco. Another big thank you goes to the volunteers who gave their time to help and all the booths that provided food, merchandise and education at the event. Everyone had a great time listening to the music of The Pine Beetles and Whitewater Ramble and enjoyed such annual events as the TV-8 Slug Bug, Timberworks Lumberjack Show presented by STIHL, and the 4k Beetle Stomp Fun Run brought to us by Summit Daily News and K-CMV Radio.
This third annual fundraiser that the Town of Frisco organizes on behalf of FDRD raised over $5,000! This money will go towards all of FDRD’s 2011 volunteer efforts to help maintain and restore our wonderful White River National Forest. Check us out at http://www.fdrd.org to get involved.
