February’s Asset Builder of the Month: Theresa Bisio

SPECIAL TO THE DAILY
Summit Daily/Brad Odekirk Asset Builder Theresa Bisio.
ALL |

I would like to recognize Summit Day Camps counselor, Theresa Bisio, as the next Asset Builder of the Month. As a Day Camp employee for the last two years, Theresa has applied her passion for children in the Before School Camp, After School Camp and as an aide for the Kindergarten Enrichment program at Dillon Valley Elementary.Theresa plans educational activities with the children such as literacy, homework, computers, nature hikes, swimming, bowling and other games.

In this environment, children are constantly exposed and experiencing the importance of social interaction and just having fun. In fact, like many successful enrichment or out-of-school time programs we strive to accomplish, the children are having so much fun that they forget they are actually learning. Theresa is an integral component to Summit Day Camp and through encouraging kids to explore, share and respect the world around them, she is building assets for our community.

Recently, Theresa has been spending time with at-risk children in the Kindergarten Enrichment program. She assists the Day Camp teacher with organizing activities and works one on one with children who need special attention and would otherwise fall behind with the educational challenges of the daily program.

She is also an avid basketball fan and loves to spend time coaching and inspiring children to play this sport. Hats off to Theresa for being a dedicated Day Camp employee and a great example of a true Asset Builder in Summit County. – Nominated by Simone Belz, Summit Day Camps director
