FIRC says thanks

Christina CarlsonFamily and Intercultural Resource Center

Thank you to Summit County for the overwhelming support of the 20th annual Microphone Marathon. Krystal 93 and hundreds of business and individuals, friends, family, the Family and Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC) board and staff made this year the biggest success yet. We wish we could thank you all personally, but special mention must go to Tom Fricke who has logged more than 13 hours on the mic every year for the past three years to raise more than $80,000 to support FIRC programming. We have fun, but we do this crazy event for important reasons. During the marathon, one woman came in to the station. Her house had burned to the ground last winter and the FIRC and other community agencies pulled together to provide her clothes, food and other necessities. She told me we made all difference in the world during her greatest time of need. Thank you Summit County. You make all the difference in the world.
