Fire ban lifted in Summit County Tuesday

summit daily news

The Summit Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution Tuesday ending the fire ban put in place on Sept. 20. Open fires are now allowed in unincorporated parts of the county. The decision to lift the ban was made based on recent weather conditions and the cooler weather expected.

The county’s fire danger level has been changed to low, although it is still recommended that open space fires be kept under constant supervision with fire suppression equipment on hand.
