Fire chiefs convene in Breckenridge


The Red, White and Blue Fire Department would like to welcome more than 300 fire chiefs, firefighters and vendors to Beaver Run in Breckenridge for this year’s Fire Leadership Challenge. The conference started Thursday and runs through Saturday.The conference, presented by the Colorado State Fire Chiefs Association, is designed to provide leadership training from both the private sector as well as political and public safety leaders.Speakers at this year’s conference include retired and current fire chiefs from around the country, including Orange County and FDNY, as well as individuals from Colorado State University, the National Fire Academy and the International Association of Fire Chiefs. “This is our 14th year with this conference in Breckenridge and it has become such a success we have actually had to turn people down,” said conference chairman Doug Forsman, the chief of Union Colony Fire in Greeley. “This year we have a record numbers of attendees. Everyone enjoys the atmosphere of the conference in Breckenridge. It is a wonderful town.”
