Fire in suburban house claims one life

CENTENNIAL, Colo. – A house exploded early Saturday, claiming one life, said West Metro Fire spokesman Andy Lyon.Lyon said the body of a man was found in the debris. Only one person was believed to have lived in the house, which was flattened.No one in nearby homes was hurt, though the two closest to the fire suffered some damage. The explosion occurred shortly after midnight.Fifty firefighters had the blaze extinguished within an hour but spent two more hours looking for victims and dousing hot spots.
