Fishing Summit County

Kent Roberg

Whether you are a spin caster or a fly fisherman, Summit County has some of the best fishing in Colorado. Popular destinations include the Blue River, Clinton reservoir, French Gulch and the Colorado River. Lake Dillon and Green Mountain Reservoir are the largest bodies of water in the county.

This spring’s high runoff has made for some unpredictable fishing. The only real way to know is to go. However, the department of Wildlife can give you a good idea of where to check first.
