Flint misdemeanor trial delayed to January
September 10, 2010
Editor's Note: Child pornography charges were eventually dismissed.
BRECKENRIDGE – The trial of former local CEO Dennis Flint on misdemeanor charges of child abuse and third-degree assault was delayed from this week to Jan. 26-27.
District attorney Mark Hurlbert said a personal issue cited by the defense counsel led to both sides’ agreement on the postponement.
The trial regards a 2008 incident involving Flint’s daughter.
At one point set for summer 2009, the trial has been postponed several times in part because of a separate felony trial regarding child-pornography possession allegations against Flint in the same court.
The felony case was tried in June but ended in a mistrial because of a hung jury. That trial has been rescheduled for Oct. 18-22.
