Fly fisherman finds body on river bank near Aspen

The Associated Press

ASPEN – The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a fly fisherman found a decomposing body along the south edge of the Roaring Fork River near Aspen.

Deputy Tiffani Delaney says authorities were called Saturday afternoon and the man’s body was removed later that evening. The man appeared to be lying on his side with his head rested on a pillow.

The Aspen Daily News reports the man’s name and age have not been released, and an autopsy is expected to be performed Sunday.

Authorities believe the body had been on the river bank for at least a few days.
