Former state tax official to testify against boyfriend
DENVER – A state tax supervisor who pleaded guilty to racketeering Friday is to testify against her former boyfriend in the $11 million scheme.The Rocky Mountain News said that with her guilty plea, 96 other charges against Michelle Cawthra, 30, were to be dismissed.She is due for sentencing on March 13. No plea deal has been made, despite her agreement to testify against Hysear Randell, 40, her former boyfriend.She pleaded guilty to diverting the bogus tax refunds to businesses allegedly controlled by Randell.
