Forrest E. Cole, 81, passes away

Forrest Cole was born Dec. 16, 1926, and lived until June 20, 2008, to be 81 years young. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1944 to 1947. Upon returning from the Pacific, he attended Ohio State University to study veterinary medicine and graduated in 1952. He was a well respected veterinarian for 56 years. In 1972, Forrest moved to Colorado from Painesville. Life interests included family, work, gardening, hiking, skiing and traveling. Forrest enjoyed living and made the most of every moment with an undeniable sense of humor and unforgettable presence.

He is survived by Jeannie Cole; children, Thomas (Donna) Cole, Vicki (Steve) Fox, Courtney Cole and Lauren Cole; grandchildren, Rebecca (Jon) Ahola, Daniel Cole, David Cole, Christina Cole, Michael Cole, Jamie Fox, Kyle Fox and Cody Fox; great-grandchildren, Alexia Ahola and Sana Ahola; and siblings, Clarence Cole, Agnes McNeely, Marlin Cole and Howard Cole.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Miriam Scott.



Upon Forrest’s request, a private interment ceremony is planned. A reception is scheduled for anyone who would like to honor Forrest from 1-4 p.m. on Aug. 9, at the home of The Casey Family located at 1031 Boreas Pass Road, Breckenridge, Colorado.
