On Saturday, July 5, the Frisco Historic Park & Museum will host the annual Frisco Founder’s Day celebration. This free event will highlight Frisco’s history with interactive activities and entertainment.

Visitors will have a chance to ride a burro, pan for gold, tour the Historic Park and

Museum’s 12 buildings, enjoy some free refreshments or set out a lawn chair on the grass for a day of entertainment. The entertainment lineup at Chez’ Place gazebo includes roping demonstrations at noon and 2 p.m., a performance by a chamber ensemble from the National Repertory Orchestra at 11 a.m., music by the Summit Concert Band at 1 p.m. and a concert with the Arnie J. Green Band at 3 p.m.

“During this event, our mission is for guests to experience history so they can begin to imagine life 150 years ago in Frisco,” said Simone Belz, museum director. “We’d love folks to walk away having learned a little something, but we want to make sure we’ve thoroughly entertained them first. Even the roping demonstrations will be hands on, so I am sure everyone in the family will take away lasting memories.”

There will also be blacksmithing demonstrations by Mark Fox, who will be selling his metal, and Boy Scout Troop 188 will be selling lemonade and ice cream as a fundraiser, as well.
