Four lauded for customer service
BRECKENRIDGE – The Breckenridge Resort Chamber (BRC) ambassadors announced the winners of their Friends Welcome Program for the month of September at their monthly mixer.
The winners are Scott McKay from the Breckenridge Transit, Mindy Mills of Goods Outlet, Roe Schardt of the Briar Rose and Rebecca Way of the Village at Breckenridge.
The four were honored for going above and beyond the call of duty in the realm of customer service. Improving customer service is the goal behind the Friends Welcome program.
Carol Hummel of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., nominated McKay for his outgoing personality.
“Scott greeted every person that got on his bus,” Hummel said. “He asked where I wanted to go and told me the easiest way to get there. He laughed and joked with people on the bus. Scott pointed out various points of interest in Breckenridge. I asked him questions about skiing in the winter and he gave me some good tips. It was very nice to have such a pleasant bus driver. It says very good things about your town when you have such friendly, informative staff.”
Rebecca Cassabone of Breckenridge nominated Mills for her helpfulness in selecting clothing at Goods Outlet.
“Not only was Mindy helpful with sizes and finding me clothes to try on, she was also very courteous and friendly,” Cassabone said. “Her positive attitude, the way she smiled and acknowledged every customer and her kind demeanor made my shopping experience extremely pleasant. I left her store with many great purchases and with the sense that I had made a friend. Mindy is a fine example of superior guest service.”
Mary Jo Molina of Breckenridge nominated Schardt, owner of the Briar Rose restaurant.
“Roe has always accommodated my guests,” Molina said. “I am a manicurist, and I provide a service in which many of our visitors talk with me for up to an hour at a time. I give them much information about our community and businesses. Whenever I refer the Briar Rose and call to make a reservation, Roe is always appreciative of me and my guests. I get wonderful feedback from many of our visitors, as Roe (exhibits all of the qualities Friends Welcome embodies).”
Erin Gilchrist nominated Wray for her professionalism and “can-do” attitude.
“Rebecca functions in an hourly supervisory capacity at our front desk, and she does a magnificent job,” Gilchrist said. “I’ve seen her in action at the desk, where she is attentive to details, friendly and accommodating. She is extremely thorough in her communication with guests and employees.”
Friends Welcome winners get $120 worth of gift certificates to spend in a variety of businesses in Breckenridge.
The customer service training program is free to Breckenridge businesses and takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.
The BRC is accepting nominations for next month’s mixer, Nov. 12 at the Hearthstone Catering offices. For more information, call (970) 453-2913.
