Four seats open on RWB Fire District Board

BRECKENRIDGE – Four seats are open on the Red, White and Blue Fire District Board, and potential candidates are encouraged to file their self-nominations by Feb. 26.

Board member responsibilities include overseeing wildfire issues as well as hazards response and mitigation in addition to keeping a managed budget, said RWB Fire District spokeswoman Kim Scott.

She said two incumbents, Teresa Perkins and Arch Gothard, aim for re-election to their four-year terms. An additional four-year seat and a two-year seat are both uncontested.

Nominations are to be filed by 5 p.m. on Feb. 26, but write-ins will be accepted until 5 p.m. on March 1. The election is in May.

“We encourage anybody interested to attend the March and April board meetings to see the other members and how we conduct business,” Scott said.

Board meetings are the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at 316 North Main Street in Breckenridge.

Nomination forms may be obtained by calling Scott at (970) 453-2474.
