Summit County has a jam-packed calendar for the Fourth of July with activities happening throughout the weekend. Whether you’re looking to bike 50 miles, watch circus performances or even ski, there’s something for everyone. Here’s what’s in store for the holiday.
Breckenridge
Breckenridge’s Fourth of July lineup has everything from races, a parade and a newly added bicycle circus.
“A big theme this year is bikes, from the Sparkler 50 Yard Strider Bike (Race) to the activations that (Breck Create) is doing at our campus,” Breck Create senior director of external relations Karlie McLaughlin said. “We’ll have an art bike runway show, and then we are inviting Cirque Mechanics, a bike themed-circus group, to perform throughout the day.”
Festivities start with Independence Day 10K Trail Run at 7 a.m. followed by the Sparkler 50 Yard Strider Bike Race for kids on Main Street at 8:30 a.m. Finally the Firecracker 50 Mile Mountain Bike Race, set to lead off the downtown parade, starts at 9:30 a.m.
Next, Rocky from the Denver Nuggets and Miles from the Denver Broncos alongside others are slated to make appearances in the Independence Day Parade at 10 a.m. on Main Street.

After the parade, Breckenridge local and U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Famer CJ Mueller will read the Declaration of Independence at noon. The National Repertory Orchestra Alumni String Quartet will perform in Blue River Plaza at 12:30 p.m., and the full orchestra will present its Fourth of July Spectacular at the Riverwalk Center at 6 p.m.
Breck Create’s Bikes, Rights & Creative Delights event featuring an array of activities like the annual chalk art contest, dog fashion show, live music, performances and a new “art bike” competition will run all day starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m.
New to Breckenridge’s celebration will be performances by Cirque Mechanics, a showcase of “Pedal Punk Bike + Circus” creative acrobatics and performing arts. Rooted in the stories of American ingenuity and celebrating Breckenridge’s love of bikes, Cirque Mechanics will perform on Main Street at 4:30 p.m. There will also be pop up performance throughout the day.
Shuttles will be running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 4 for skiers and riders to get to the Fourth of July Bowl for the Peak 10 Classic. From the shuttle, a 2-mile and 1,500-foot vertical hike is required from the shuttle drop-off to the bowl.
While the event is free, fundraising proceeds will go to support The Peak 10 Classic Foundation and Friends of Dillon Ranger District this year. This is the first year registration is required and can be done at RaceRoster.com/events/2025/106853/the-peak-10-classic.
