Free back yard composting workshop Saturday

FRISCO – Summit Recycling Project is holding a back yard composting workshop at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old Town Hall at Third Avenue and Main Street.

In nature, leaves fall to the ground and are broken down over time into rich and fertile soil with the help of sun, rain, snow, air and many different organisms.

With this help from nature, composting in back yards becomes a simple process that anyone can do.

Learn the tips to create compost in four easy-to-remember steps.

The workshop is free and will provide attendees with the information they need to compost quickly and effectively – even in the local cold, high-altitude climate.

It is highly recommended that attendees sign up ahead of time as this workshop typically fills up fast and space is limited.

Call Summit Recycling Project to register at (970) 668-5703 or e-mail

Keep in mind that Old Town Hall is a zero-waste meeting hall. Do not bring disposable cups, instead choose a reusable mug or recyclable container for any coffee or other drink you bring to the workshop.
