Friends of Dillon Ranger District seeks new executive director

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

The Friends of the Dillon Ranger District (FDRD) announced that it is seeking an executive director to replace outgoing Director Scott Fussell.

According to a FDRD press release, Fussell has succeeded in stabilizing the organization, hiring an outstanding staff and overseeing over 50 projects for the 2010 field season.

“We greatly appreciate Scott’s many contributions as a leader and advocate for FDRD over the past several years,” said FDRD Board Chairman Bob Turner. “Scott has opted to move on to face other challenges, and we are grateful for his tireless commitment to National Forest lands in Summit County.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the five years I devoted to FDRD, including its volunteers, partners and the U.S. Forest Service staff,” Fussell said. “I am confident that I am departing a stable organization that will remain a vital part of the Summit County community for years to come.”

THE FDRD Board plans to immediately initiate a hiring process and select a successor by September 1. For more information on FDRD or its programs, visit http://www.FDRD.org or call (970) 262-3449.
