Friends of Open Space Party set for Feb. 3

The Continental Divide Land Trust (CDLT) will host the 4th annual Friends of Open Space Party at the Silverthorne Pavilion on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006. Aron Ralston will be the guest speaker. Ralston escaped after six days of entrapment in a Utah canyon by amputating his own arm. He will share stories of his adventures in our state’s great open spaces. His book, “Between a Rock and a Hard Place” is now out in paperback. Ralston will sell and sign books at the event.The Friends of Open Space Party will be a celebration of our community’s land and natural resource preservation efforts and successes. It is an occasion for the community to learn about various open space programs and nonprofit organizations, sign up for volunteer work, and meet and ask questions of open space commissioners and nonprofit representatives.The event provides opportunities for people of all ages and interests to visit booths for nonprofit organizations involved in natural resource field, view and bid on a wide variety of silent auction items to support CDLT, and children can engage in special kid activities.For more information, call (970) 453-3875.
