The Friends of the Summit County Libraries has approved almost $15,000 to go toward the local libraries.

The funds will help purchase Chromebooks for coding classes at the South Branch Library in Breckenridge, book carts for the North Branch Library in Silverthorne and new iPads for staff use at each library, the release states.

The nonprofit has also set up a new fund to give financial help to any library employee who wishes to pursue a master’s degree in library science.

Additionally, a new program called BrainFuse will be funded to provide homework help, tutoring help and job search help. The public can take advantage of these services, which include academic and standardized test preparation, including the U.S. citizenship test, for free.
