BRECKENRIDGE – The Breckenridge Resort Chamber (BRC) recognized four local employees for offering customers superb customer service during the month of April.

The four employees rewarded in the Friends Welcome program were Sara Anderson of the Breckenridge Brewery, Ron Darling of Resort Express, Julio Ortiz of Beaver Run Resort and Rachel Rose of Downstairs at Eric’s.

Co-worker Rebecca Casabonne nominated Anderson for the Friends Welcome honor for her friendly nature, warm smile and helpful, hard-working efforts on the job.

“Her positive attitude and pleasant interaction with every guest makes her worthy of this recognition,” Casabonne said. “Sara also earned a perfect score of 100 percent in the mystery shopping program conducted for Breckenridge’s Friends Welcome. I am very proud of Sara for this achievement and also proud to have her represent our business.”

Sasha Lagano of Boynton Brook, Ill., nominated Darling for his expertise in driving in horrid winter weather conditions.

“During the major snowstorm in March we were picked up by Resort Express and our driver, Ron Darling, was wonderful,” Lagano said. “The road conditions were awful – accidents everywhere – but Ron got us to the airport safely. He was very interesting, telling us some Colorado history along the way. This was our first visit to Colorado and we absolutely loved it! We’re planning on a return visit and we will definitely use Resort Express and let any friends heading west know about their great service.”

Emily Preslar, a co-worker of Ortiz, nominated the banquet set-up employee for his work ethic.

“Julio never stops working,” Preslar said. “He can always find something to do. He is extremely prompt and ready for his shift. He is always willing to pick up extra shifts or do weekend work. Julio has a clean, professional appearance and an upbeat, positive attitude. He never tires and likes to learn new tasks. He is a most valued staff member in a department filled with super stars, and he deserves a pat on the back.”

Mark Walter of Breckenridge named Rose for her knowledge and friendliness.

“Rachel proved herself to be an amazing waitress and offered us a wonderful dining experience,” Walter said. “She knew exactly what to recommend from the menu and was knowledgeable about every item on it. She was at our table whenever we needed anything, but she wasn’t overwhelming. Rachel was the best server anyone in our group has ever had. She brightened our day and made us want to return again.”

The winners received $120 worth of gift certificates for use in a variety of businesses in Breckenridge.

The customer service training program is free to Breckenridge businesses and takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.
