Frisco: 21st annual LAPS Canine 4k slated for July 30; pre-register by Saturday

The 21st annual LAPS Canine 4k will be held in Frisco on July 30 with pet supply vendors galore, lots of prizes for top finishers in the run/walk race and a silent auction with lots of pet items and certificates. The 2.5-mile course will loop around Frisco, starting/ending in front of the gazebo on Main Street.Registration runs from 8-9 a.m. with race start at 9:15. Pre-register for discount and fast check-in on race day (download registration form or get more info at http://www.summmitlaps.com). Pre-registration must be received by Saturday for discount. Fees are per dog so bring the family! You can participate without a dog also, but will not be eligible for race prizes. LAPS members: $22 (or $27 after Saturday and race day). Non-members: $25 (or $30 after Saturday and race day) You’ll receive a doggie goodie bag & bandanna, T-shirt and other surprises per entry and be eligible for door prizes. Free Abbey’s coffee, donuts, bananas and lemonade. Entertainment will feature various demos of “Doggie sports for you & your mutt” by Louisa Morrissey of Skijor-N-More and vendor tables with pet products & services, local vet offices and more. Doggie contests will include best dancer, best singer, largest mutt and whatever we can make up after that!Cash or check only for this event. All proceeds benefit local pets through financial aid from LAPS.
