The Frisco Adventure Park tubing hill will open for the 2014-15 winter season on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27. The first 50 tubers will receive a pumpkin pie or apple pie and a commemorative Frisco Adventure Park pie cutter in celebration of the opening and Thanksgiving.

“The atmosphere at the Frisco Adventure Park is celebratory and fun on any given day, but especially on opening day,” said Diane McBride, director of recreation. “I think it is absolutely impossible to be anything but happy while you’re tubing. And there is really nothing better than getting outside together and taking part in an activity which is doable for the whole family, from grandpa to grandkids. So we felt that a pie giveaway would embody the laidback and happy vibe at the Adventure Park.”

The park also is home to the Frisco Nordic Center, with 40-plus kilometers of trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The Nordic Center will open soon. Two Below Zero sleigh rides are also located at the park and began offering dinner and hot cocoa rides on Saturday, Nov. 22. The park’s beginner ski and ride hill will open in early January.

The tubing hill is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with one-hour tubing sessions starting every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are expanded holiday hours, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., from Sunday, Dec. 21, through Sunday, Jan. 4. Reservations are encouraged, especially during holidays and on weekends.

The park offers a 10 Punch Pass and a Friends and Family Season Pass.

The 10 Punch Pass is $199 for guests from outside of Summit County, $170 for county residents and $160 for town of Frisco residents. The 10 Punch Pass is transferable, with no blackout dates. This option offers up to a 30 percent savings over regular prices.
